Description: Kattaikkuttu theater is an integral part of the intangible Tamil cultural heritage. As part of the Bengaluru Poetry Festival, the Kattaikkuttu Sangam, who maintain and develop this traditional theater form, will be visiting to curate an exclusive look into this ancient artform. They make Kattaikkuttu’s embodied know-how accessible to multiple audiences to ensure that generations to come will be able to enjoy and take part in its rich story repertoire, its vigor and aesthetic beauty. This workshop will centre around getting to know Kattaikkuttu, its recent history and the ways in which performers produce 8 hours of theatre in the absence of a written script.

As part of the Bengaluru Poetry Festival, stalwart Rajesh Joshi will be conducting this intimate workshop. During this workshop, poet Rajesh Joshi ji will discuss the different aspects of contemporary Hindi poetry and how to bring them into practice.
